Microneedling is a procedure intended to improve textural concerns of the skin including uneven skin tone, melasma, acne and surgical scars.
This short procedure takes approximately 30 minutes. To ensure patient comfort, additional time is often required for the application of a topical numbing agent prior to this treatment. The combination of topical numbing time and the performance of the procedure will take around 1 hour.
Patients may experience redness, inflammation, and/or tenderness in the treated area for up to 72 hours following treatment. Some patients refer to the sensation as similar to a slight sunburn.
Following this, flaking and dryness may occur for a few days. The skin should be healed within 7 days and will continue to experience improvements over 90 days.
